About Gather
Gather is a text-based service operated by Gather Text LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we", "us", "our"). Gather connects adults in the Dallas area with shared interests for in-person social events. By signing up for the Gather waitlist, opting in to our SMS service, or using gathertext.com, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
SMS Messaging Program
This section describes the Gather SMS messaging program. By submitting your phone number through our signup form and checking the SMS consent box, you agree to receive text messages from Gather on the terms below.
Program details
Program name: Gather
Description: The Gather SMS program sends event invitations, RSVP confirmations, reminders, and group coordination details to opted-in users in the Dallas area.
Message frequency: Up to 10 recurring messages per month. Additional messages may be sent in response to your replies. Frequency may vary depending on event activity.
Consent: Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of any purchase. You may use gathertext.com without subscribing to SMS messages.
Message and data rates: Message and data rates may apply. Check with your wireless carrier for details.
To get help: Reply HELP to any Gather message, or email support@gathertext.com.
To opt out: Reply STOP to any Gather message at any time. You will receive one confirmation message and no further messages from Gather
Carriers: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Supported carriers: Major US carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, US Cellular, and others.

Eligibility
Gather is intended for adults aged 21 and older who reside in or visit the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. By signing up, you confirm that you meet these eligibility requirements. We reserve the right to refuse service or remove any user from Gather at our discretion.
Your account and accuracy
You agree to provide accurate and current information when signing up, including your real first name and a valid mobile phone number that you own or are authorized to use. You are responsible for keeping your information up to date by emailing support@gathertext.com.
Events and reservations
Gather organizes group events at third-party venues (restaurants, bars, sports facilities, and similar). When you RSVP "yes" to an event, you commit to attending. We make reservations on your behalf based on confirmed RSVPs.
You are responsible for the cost of your own food, drinks, activity fees, and any other expenses incurred at events, except where explicitly stated otherwise. Gather does not own or operate any of the venues where events take place and is not responsible for the quality of food, service, or experience at those venues.
Cancellations and no-shows
If you can no longer attend an event you've RSVP'd to, please let us know as soon as possible by replying to the event text or emailing support@gathertext.com. Late cancellations and no-shows affect other group members and may result in being removed from Gather after repeated occurrences.
Behavior at events
Gather is built on trust between strangers. You agree to treat other Gather members with respect, follow venue rules, and behave lawfully. We may remove any user from Gather at our discretion for behavior that is harassing, discriminatory, threatening, illegal, or otherwise harmful to other members or to the integrity of the service.
No guarantees about other users
We do background-check nothing about other Gather users beyond what they tell us in their signup. You are meeting strangers in public spaces; use your judgment, and trust your instincts. Gather is not responsible for the conduct of any user, on or off the platform.
Intellectual property
The Gather name, wordmark, logo, website, and content are owned by Gather Text LLC. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use them for commercial purposes without our written permission.
Disclaimers
Gather is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the service, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific events, matches, or outcomes will occur.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gather Text LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of Gather Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to Gather will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gather Text LLC, its officers, members, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of Gather, your conduct at events, or your violation of these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or Gather will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let active users know by SMS or email. Continued use of Gather after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
